Have you heard??

Welcome to the Zimmerman Family blog!

In our first post here we have some exciting news to share with you...

First, a picture from our trip up north last month:

Sleeping Bear Dunes - September 2014

Zimmerman Baby #3 will be arriving in May 2015!! We are so excited to be welcoming another precious little one into our family. "Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him." Psalm 127:3

And if that isn't enough to be excited about, there's more!

Rapids in the Nile River -March 2014

Some of you may remember that we traveled to Uganda back in March with Engineering Ministries International (EMI). After months of conversations and prayers, we are excited to tell you that we have accepted a staff position with EMI and will be serving in Uganda, Africa. {You might have guessed something along those lines by the title of this blog...} Our family of 5 will be making this big move sometime at the end of 2015 or early 2016. There are still many details and logistics to work through and we hope to keep you updated frequently on the progress and ways that you can help. Will you lift our family in prayer as we travel this road together?

We are trusting that the Lord's loving, capable, and generous hands will surround our family during this time of many transitions. We will look to Him for our strength and direction believing that His plans are to prosper and not to harm us, to give us a hope and future. {Jeremiah 29:11}. Our conversations have flowed between every range of emotion as we worked through making this decision that will uproot and change the course of our lives and family up to this point. But the one thing we know to be true is that the Lord promises again and again in His word to never leave us. He will be our stronghold as we step out in faith into the uncertain waters of change. He will provide the way. Instead of allowing fear or uncertainty to hold us back, we will walk out into the waves knowing that God's plan is far better than what we can imagine and trusting that He will use our obedience to bring glory and honor to His name.

Please follow along with us and pray for our family as we move forward in the direction we believe God is calling us to serve Him.
